Science & Our World

NCDUK 2020 is on Sunday May 17th and the week running up to it

Science is all around and has a huge influence on our world and our children's future. In embracing scientific developments, we learn too about human endeavour through history and our amazing planet. NCDUK is a great time to set children off on a journey of discovery, to pique their curiosity and inspire their creativity.
Are you a museum or other public attraction focused on science, invention and discovery? We'd be delighted if you would celebrate NCDUK with special activities for children on the day or week leading up to it, or simply promote NCDUK and encourage people to bring their children along.

If you're an individual, group or organisation and want to create a special day for the child/children in your life, here are some suggestions of places you could visit:
  • A child-friendly museum like Eureka
  • A science park
  • A planetarium or observatory
  • A castle
  • A dockyard or harbourside
  • A pottery, glassworks, working mill, railway centre
  • An industrial heritage museum
  • A motorsport or aircraft museum or display
  • A model village
  • A historical monument
A Save Childhood Movement Initiative
