NCDUK2024 Event Guidelines
1. You can run any kind of playful, serious, big or small event that you want for the week up to and including the day. This can be as simple as your family taking a screen-free day out together, or as major as a conference or city-wide celebration. You can also use the day as a national platform for local organisations to share their own activities and how they are using them to promote and celebrate child rights and wellbeing.
2. For all NCDUK related activities or events we ask that you include either the NCDUK logo or banner in your promotional materials.
3. Please tell us what you are planning by using this form (that way we can share your ideas with other people).
4. Don't forget to let your local media know your plans. They can access lots of information about the day on the website resource pages. Please send us links to any articles that they run and we will share them on social media.
5. Connect with us on #NCDUK2024 @NCDUK2024 and help spread the word!
6. All NCDUK related events must help to raise awareness about child rights and wellbeing, and any funds raised must support only these causes. Please let us know how successful you are and we will share the details with a national audience.
7. NCDUK is currently run by a small and totally voluntary team and we are always very grateful for any funds raised to support the ongoing development of the day. Contributions can be made via our Donorbox page.
8. IMPORTANT: If you are organising a public event you will need to organise your own risk assessments and event insurance. NCDUK provides a national platform for raising awareness and cannot take responsibility for events run by third parties.
9. All organisations that work with children have a legal responsibility to ensure their safety. For example, making sure that staff and volunteers are recruited, supported and managed safely; ensuring policies and procedures are in place to keep children safe; ensuring staff and volunteers know how to behave towards children; and that they know what to do if they have concerns, taking steps to manage risks.
8.The DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) carries out criminal record checks in England and Wales. DBS checks are just one part of safe volunteer recruitment - for more advice visit gov.uk. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE DIRECT CONTACT WITH CHILDREN DURING YOUR ACTIVITY OR EVENT ARE APPROPRIATELY EVALUATED AND MONITORED.
